LAN setup with AP to get remote desktop to work?

It was only example of IP numbers, he can still change the Gateway from 192.168.10.XXX to 192.168.1.1 and then give AC87U IP 192.168.1.2 as an example.
From Gateway cable to AC87U WAN and then from LAN to LAN on AC66U.

Can also turn off the DHCP on the Gateway and give AC87U IP 192.168.1.2 for example.
Then the AC87U acts as Default Gateway and gives out IP from lets say 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.100 or wath ever he choose in the settings, as long they are in the same subnet 192.168.1.xxx.
This must working its basic settings.

But none of that is relevant to his problem.

Hes getting two subnets depending on witch router he connects to, that is how I understand him.
He want to see and connect to every client that is connected to the home-network YES or NO?
They must be in the same subnet.
The problem is either that it is connected incorrectly or it is in the settings on the AC87U some how.

Gateway uses IP 192.168.10.xxx
I wonder wath IP AC87U gets from the Gateway, it cant be 192.168.1.1?

The Lokal Network setting on Gateway for example can be:

Local Device IP address 192.168.1.1
Local Network subnet 255.255.255.0

DHCP Settings
DHCP Server ON

Network address 192.168.1.0
DHCP Start address 192.168.1.10
DHCP End address 192.168.1.100
New start 10
New limit 100
Lease time 1h
DNS server 192.168.1.1
