I had to try half a dozen times or more to get an AC66U b1 to mesh with AX86U. Finally succeeded with the node Ethernet connected to the router. On Asus firmware, bam, first try!I have tried to add mesh nodes on the latest firmware 386.5_2 on my AX86U. The nodes (AX55's) do not appear in the list of nodes to be added. If I downgrade back to firmware 386.2_6 then it works.
As soon as I downgrade it works. It isn't working on the latest release.I had to try half a dozen times or more to get an AC66U b1 to mesh with AX86U. Finally succeeded with the node Ethernet connected to the router. On Asus firmware, bam, first try!
I am going to try putting stock firmware on the 'nodes' and see if I can connect with Merlin on the primary...if not I will revert all back to stockI am having this issue as well..I will try wired discover but I have my doubts

I can confirm both posts above accord with my own experience - however the "stock" response is that AiMesh is closed source - so best live with it!definitely the merlin firmware, flashed both to stock and no issues...
