Is it possible to setup Link Aggregation on more than the first 2 LAN ports of the Asus RT-AC88U? It appears that its possible to setup Link Aggregation on Port 1/2 on both the stock firmware and the Asus Merlin Firmware but what about the following scenarios (Scenario 1 is preferable):

Scenario 1 - 2 devices, both connected via 2 cables each (Link aggregation) to the Asus router:
NAS1 Port 1/2 connected to Router Port 1/2 (Link Aggregation)
Separate client (or NAS2) Port 1/2 connected to Router Port 3/4 (or any other 2 ports) (Link Aggregation)

Scenario 2 - NAS connected to Asus router with more than 2 cables (Link Aggregation):
NAS1 Port 1/2/Port X/Port Y connected to Router Port 1/2/Port X/Port Y (Link Aggregation)

Thanks!

Hi @RMerlin ,

Do you have any insight / comments for these possibilities?

Can this be done with the Asus Merlin firmware, either through the GUI (preferable) or via NVRAM?

Thanks!

This is possible if the NAS supports QoS/LACP

No - you get two ports available for LAG... that's it, no more, and that's ok...

LAG does not double BW to any single client, but it can help with capacity with multiple clients...

Because of Layer 2 - if you have two ethernet links, each link has to be acked on the same link...
