I decided to make a list of MoCa 2.5 devices, since more are coming onto the market now. I won't be reviewing them in this post though. Since this forum does not support tables natively, I am using an image with a list of numbered links corresponding with the right column of the table. I don't believe the Actiontec is available outside telco OEM use... so most everyone reading this won't be able to purchase them. Also worth mentioning (and double checking if you can...) that all MoCA 2.5 devices today are using the Maxlinear chipset. I understand other vendors, such as Broadcom, have given up on MoCA and are concentrating on WIFI 6 and beyond instead for home networking.

Or GoCoax is the retail branding they are using in the US; don't know. But the GoCoax WF-803M seems the same as the CIG WF-803M.

Ah those Actiontec listings must be new, thanks for pointing out. Other OEM relationships include the Teamly TDNM250 and the Kiwee units appear to the the same device.

Yeah, looks like they're the same. Not sure how you found the OEM one for GoCoax. I thought they developed it, but you're right. OEM relationships can be strange.

I saw some "Starlink" branded MoCA 2.5 adapters on eBay. Can't find anything about them. I assume it's just a 1mbps interface similar to the GoCoax. Only 1 review and new seller, so I'm not entirely ready to rush in and buy these. Anyone know anything about these?

That's because there's only one vendor of MoCA 2.5 chipsets: MaxLinear so all OEMs take the software from MaxLinear and simply rebrand it.

Thanks. That makes sense. I was going to take a chance on these but as it turned out, goCoax had units in stock and I ended up ordering directly from them.

Awesome. Since MaxLinear is the only game in town you see the same general form factor too. The chipset vendors provide a 'reference-design' that you can just copy and make gear. The next effect is that the performance, provided they followed the recommendations, should be identical from vendor to vendor. Reliability on the other hand may be vastly different depending on the other component brands (capacitors, coils, power supplies, etc.).

Yes, you are correct. MxL is only player in this market. All of the current products are based their MxL3710.
The only difference is the other component part. the operation cost, the technical support. That will lead a different price and different user experience.

So from my cursory review of the different devices, there seems to be 2 main case designs. The "long" adapter with the connectors on each end like the goCoax model and the "wide" adapter with the connectors on the back like the Teamly Digital model.

Migrated to the BBcode table format so everything is searchable now. I planned to use "other devices" to list Moca devices besides bridges, but haven't found anything major that supports it yet. Even from the likes of Comcast and such.

That is mostly true, but the Actiontec is an exception, and has no coax passthrough.
