New Around Here
Hello

I'm looking to replace my current wifi router (Netgear R6900 - from Costco)
My house is ~2,600 sq.ft, 2 levels
What I'm really looking for is a solution (router or mesh system) that will give me the fastest speed when I copy files from my laptop downstairs to my server (Unraid) upstairs (server is wired to the router)
With my current router, I can transfer file up to ~15Mbps (it's fluctuating between 8Mbps to 15Mbps) on the 5Ghz band
I'm making some tests with the Google Wifi system right now (4 nodes - from Costco as well) with one of the nodes being 3ft from my laptop.............But I don't see any real improvement !
I remember making a test with the Orbi Mini RBK22 (2 units - AC2200 - Costco too) and I got a 25Mbps, but it was not stable...
Anyway, I was wondering what your recommendations are....I would like to stay in the 200/$250 range

Thanks

Why are they the wrong ones? Are the RB50 MUCH better?
Thanks

They're a bit more robust...

Also, with WiFi, one has to consider the client capabilities - might be better on the wire there (cabled up over ethernet)

I won't keep the Google wifi anyway...I was transferring some files yesterday from my laptop to the server, and speeds were 3Mb/s average, when I could get ~15Mb/s with the Netgear R6900
