I have the ASUS RT-N16 and just discovered what I feel is a huge flaw. I have Enable Web Access from WAN set to NO. Yet access from the WAN over port 80 is still happening. I also set it to YES than set the Port of Web Access from WAN to 8383 just as a test and that appears to be completely ignored. I am running firmware version 376.49.5.

I searched the forums and found nothing on this. I would like to think I am missing something but the settings seem pretty simple. I have tried the basic things like rebooting after the changes etc etc but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this or could anyone else with that firmware version verify this is happening or not to the router they have?

Thanks

When you say access from the WAN, do you mean access from physically outside of your network or using your external IP from inside your network? If the latter, the loopback action is expected as it is bypassing the firewall. If the former, that is not expected.
