Hello all,
I finally bought a RT56 (second hand) for Xmas and I'm setting it up (flashed firmware 378.56_2 to it). I'm migrating my old config from an old WRT54GL which ran tomato and/or openwrt. The configuration migration was done by hand, but there are two features that don't look the same in Asus' web interface...
First, I want to configure static port forwarding and I do this from WAN -> Virtual Server. But the web interface doesn't allow me to specify source IP address for the port forward. For me this is important. Do I have to configure port forwarding as part of a startup script in jffs, or am I missing something in the web interface?
Secondly - I need some custom configuration for DNS. I need to block some domains (to prevent my samsung TV from trying to auto-update and break the root). The way I did this was with the server directive in dnsmasq and tomato firmware allowed me to edit the config in the web interface. I'm guessing this goes in the jffs scripts as well, right?
I started this post because I'm a noob with this platform and I'd like not to overlook simple solutions before I MacGuyver myself a monster script to take care of business.
Thanks
