Model of router with enough NVRAM? RT-AC88U?

I currently have the RT-AC68U. It is actually now in AP-only mode so not even doing DHCP reservations.

Perhaps because I have 75 clients showing up and it is maintaining the client map, but it is again pushing the limits of available NVRAM (it was doing this when I was running it in router mode too).

I actually really like the Merlin firmware (perhaps because I've used it the longest).

Is there an Asus router I can buy that would have more than the 64kb of NVRAM?

I found this post: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ac88u-nvram-size.38479/

Looks like the rt-ac88u has 128kb NVRAM. Are there others?

These were my top NVRAM offenders when my router was in router mode a few months ago:

My NVRAM shows:
3773 dhcp_staticlist
3704 client_info_tmp
3001 nmp_client_list
2896 custom_clientlist
1089 sshd_hostkey
624 sshd_dsskey
431 sshd_authkeys
396 rc_support

there is the gt-5300 (rog rapture) buy that is a bit unstable atm since the firmware and unit were just released recently, from what ive read. the 88u should be fine i rock one my self quite a solid box, are you running any scripts by any chance, try factory reseting it to see if it clears the nvram.

Thanks

I reset it when I switched it to AP mode. No scripts now. I'd like to go back to AB-solutions when I get an Asus with enough NVRAM.

I think my issue is with all the clients on my network and all of that getting stored in NVRAM.

I'm mainly interested in the router function (static DHCP for 80 or so clients, OpenVPN client and Server, ad blocking, inbound SSH for SSH tunneling etc) and less so in WiFi (though if I can cover my 2nd floor far right corner from the basement far left where the router will go that'd be great.

$45US price diff between the AC88U and gt-5300... I might as well go all-in, but not sure I want to fiddle with stability issues. I'll do more research on that.

Am running two AC68U's that see a lot of new devices each week as we refurb computers and install new OS. Have been running a cron job that cleans out a couple of nvram settings nightly and the used nvram is about 46k. Running John's fork, samba turned off and OpenVPN certs moved to jffs.
