New Around Here
I want to modify the CFE configuration to add Wifi area selection. On normal old type r7000, I just need to export CFE/boot section.
cat /dev/mtd0 >/tmp/cfe.bin
then i can easily change the configuration by decompressing this cfe.bin.

However for new types e.g. AX86U or AX58U, there’s no more CFe but rootfs which is about 90M size. I tried to modify it by Ultraedit directly but it seems no possible.

My question is how to modify this rootfs?

Encrypted on newer routers. Make sure you have enough money for new router before you flash.

Region change in order to boost Tx power is pointless in most cases. Wi-Fi is 2-way communication. Weak client won't reach your router anyway.

Good luck, but this is illegal. There is a reason different countries have different regulations.
