Judging from it, it seems it's another case of the manufacturer dragging its feet, as the issues were reported months ago.

EDIT: and a healthy dose of sheer incompetence. There's still an Alpha Networks backdoor in this thing, for crying out loud. That's what, the third deliberate backdoor found in D-Link firmwares so far?

with DLink - not surprised - they do good HW, decent performance, but their security approach is, erm, interesting...

Maybe they need a stiff finger up the backside like another OEM regarding security - that'll fix things...

after their blunder with firmware keys they seemed like they put effort in security. Seems like they still suck, i guess we can cross out dlink from recommendations.

The problem is that my local ISPs use them, with remote management enabled. Dlink doesnt have good hardware or performance either.

Yep government back doors.

Alpha Networks, which develop their software, is based in Asia, not in the US.

Didn't the FTC fire a few shots at them last year?

They need to fire Alpha Networks (even tho they used to be owned by D-Link), and get someone more professional AND competent handle their software. I've had my first dealing with Alpha Networks back in my WDLXTV days, and even back then their software was absolute crap.
