5 days ago, my N66U mysteriously rebooted while I was asleep. When I had gotten up, I noticed the uptime to be 14 hours and change. Why did this happen and where do I look for any info as to why this happened?

I'm using Merlin 378.53

Had a similar issue (I believe) with the same firmware but it was a week ago (Nov 28th). The router was then offline for the next two days until I returned home and manually rebooted. Have since upgraded to the latest Merlin.

Could be a dozen different reasons, starting with power fluctuation. It's impossible to tell.

Possible causes and solutions:

1. Drawing too much power through the router's USB port. Try using an external AC to 5V DC USB power adapter for any USB-powered devices.

2. Overclocked CPU might be causing system instability. Reduce the CPU clock speed if you are overclocking the CPU.

When the router crashes and automatically reboots, the standard /tmp/syslog is lost. So, if you were to use a remote syslog, it might tell you what's going on.
