Just thought it may be useful to create a list of NAS benchmark tools that are generally thought to give accurate results. This could be anything related to NAS boxes - disk throughput, drive temps, cpu utilization, etc.

I'm trying to do some benchmarking of my current system as well as about to build a DIY NAS, and I want to do some testing prior to putting it into production. I've had problems finding good (preferably free) tools to perform the various benchmarks. Thought that this may help the guys like me that don't know all the ins and outs yet from having to look all over for good tools.

ATTO Bench32 - First one that I've used is the ATTO Bench 32 which was easy to use and seems several people rely on it's readings.

IOZone
- Support for several OSs including Linux and Windows
