New Around Here
Hey fellas,

Just poking around on my 68u etc.
Noticed that I can change modes to AP and 3 others.
Got me thinking, I have NBN, so NBN modem?>Ethernet>wan port on 68u.
The 68u is in wireless router mode by default.
Everything works fine.
I don't know much about the NBN modem or router or whatever it is. It has 4 ports, but only the first one works for some reason when plugged directly into a computer. The house is Ethernet wired.
I plug all the house ports into the 68u.
Places like the lounge room have a 4 port switch to connect tv, dvd player, htpc etc as I don't need full gigabit support for all those devices at once.

Should I change to Access point mode or am I not getting double NAT or whatever?
As far as I know I thought the NBN thing is more like a 1 port switch than anything.

Cheers guys.

Check your WAN IP on RT-AC68U, if it is not something that looks like:
192.168.x.x
172.16.x.x
10.x.x.x
Then you are not doing double NAT, and everything is already configured as it should.
And router mode would be right choice.

If that ip looks like one of those as listed above, your ISP uses router and you should switch to AP mode to avoid double NAT.

Some ISP`s use modems, some use modem-routers and some use both, so it is really hard to say what NBN uses, unless you provide model of that device.
