Need help accessing Asus AC3200 router

I'm trying to get to my Asus router's (AC3200) admin page, but I haven't been able to. I did the ipconfig in the command prompt window, got the IP address of my router, but it keeps spitting back "This site can't be reached" with an ERR_Connection_refused. I've looked that up, & tried turning off ad-blockers, I've tried turning of my AV, and I've tried 2 different browsers (currently using & prefer Brave, but I tried Chrome & Edge & couldn't connect.

I'm at a loss, & have no idea how to proceed from here : (. Can anyone help me/walk me through what to do to diagnose this?

Perhaps you disabled HTTP access on the router? Try connecting using the default HTTPS port, e.g.,:

https://192.168.1.1:8443

Maybe some more info... What is your PCs IP address? What do you think the router's address is?

Hi all, sorry for the long delay (out of town for a family wedding!).

PC's IPv4 address is listed as 192.168.2.44/24 in the "View Hardware and connection properties".

I think my routers address is 192.168.2.1? That was the value I got from doing the ipconfig thingy in a command prompt. The typical 192.168.1.1 is my internet...modem? Bah, I don't know what to call it: I've got internet through one of those cell box sort of things, so it's effectively my modem.

I tried the https option (both as the 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1) without luck :/.
I know I've been able to connect to my router before, but I also remember having a similar sort of situation then as I am now. Unfortunately, I was dumb & didn't write the procedure I used to finally connect down >_<.
This time around I've also tried doing asus.router.login sort of permutations, but haven't had much success with those this time.

No dice :/. I gave both http & https versions of "asusrouter.com", and I get "This site cannot be reached", DNS_probe_possible in both cases .

Are you running a VPN? Do you have another device on your network running dhcp? Is there any other "exotic" setting/service/device on your network.
Basically we need more info. For sure the /24 network will only show one network, /16 would be needed to access bot the 192.168.1.0 and 192.168.2.0 networks from your pc without some edits to iptables(?).
I could have just shortened all this by suggesting dhcp is running on the modem and is upsetting your whole network.

Part of the problem is that I just don't know : (. Like, I wish I could answer all the questions you posed, but I don't know the answers, and I don't know how to find out the answers : (.
Is there a way to disable the dhcp thingy, or will I need to do a factory reset on the router?
