New Around Here
i am new to this NAS stuff but maybe someone here will be kind enough to help me solve what i want to accomplish.

I have a PS3 and would like to get a NAS to connect it to my router and put all my dvd movies onto the NAS and have it connected to my ps3 via the network and then stream movies to my tv via the hdmi connection.

I would like some recomendations on a NAS unit that is around $200 price range if possible that wil actually work since I have read reviews and not all are very good.

Thanks in advance!!!

I stream media to my ps3 (as well as my other media streamers) through my buffalo linkstation live. It's 1 TB, less than 200 bucks, and has been very reliable in streaming DVD rips, music, and pictures.

Thanks for the helpful advice. I will look that unit up more closely.

I was also looking at the "iomega 34571 2TB Home Media Network Hard Drive" It is only a little over 200 dollars and comes with a 2TB drive.

Do all of these units support all types of video files?

UPnP/DLNA implementations, which are needed to support streaming to PS3, vary greatly.

I suggest you also hit other forums to see if people have success / trouble streaming from that NAS.
