Hi,
i get my R7000 today. Before i have the Asus N66U.
But now i miss the Wake On Lan from the Asus.
This was very urgent for me, to start my PC over Net but i found no way, to use it with the Netgear.
Is it not possible to use WOL with the R7000??

You might check in with dd-wrt guys (http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=177443&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0).

Haven't seen WOL in the Netgear firmware.

Edit: I see that WOL is mentioned here for dd-wrt: http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WOL. Not sure if anyone's using it with dd-wrt, try the forum URL above to find out.

Edit 2: Now that I've gone back to dd-wrt firmware for the R7000, I see that there are controls for WOL in "Administration" -> "WOL" in the web admin interface.

Thanx for your answer!

But this is no Option for me. I will send back the Netgear and buy the Asus AC68.

I cant believe that this simple feature like WOL doenst work with the R7000

The option exists for any router, sans any bugs that may prevent this WOL such as the N56U. If you notice within the tutorial the header "Remote Wake On LAN via Port Forwarding." This is technically how you are supposed to do it. You open a port and send a packet to wake the system-as long as it is configured correctly also.

I use this script https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/wiki/WOL-Script-Wake-Up-Your-Webserver-On-Internet-Traffic on my N66U and with a little modification in the wake.sh, i can wake up every PC in my network.
Or i use the Asus App for Android. Both work fine.

But i dont know, how i can do this wtih the R7000, intern from LAN it is no problem but cant wake up any PC from outside over WAN.

Is anybuddy here who can explain me, how i configure the R7000 right, to wake up my PC´s from outside? Thanx a lot!!
