Network Bonding specifically on unraid, i have two questions i have a dumb switch will bonding work out of the box? and if no, if i enable it on the router then use the switch ports for bonding will it work?

Thanks!

I don't know what bonding modes are supported by your Unbound setup, but if you want to enable bonding on the router it only supports 802.3ad which requires a smart switch that also supports that mode.

i believe mode 0 to mode 6, so if i understand correctly even if the upstream router does support it, it wont be transferred to the dumb switch which is directly hooked up to the router?

Keep in mind that bonding only gives you additional bandwidth with multiple clients and maybe not even then. If extra throughput is what you need, consider moving to 2.5Gbps Ethernet.

Spoiler Alert:

It doesn't work, even the router supports it and the switch doesnt i wont work the switch must support if for it to work sticked with mode 0 (balance rr)

Please see attached file 1st command is balance rr and 2nd command is bonding
