New AC66 bad wifi signal

Just bought AC66 and find wifi signal isnt that good as all reviews/users says its.

With mine old Dlink Dir 655 have much better wifi strength than new ac66 and full bars everywhere in the apartment. Even I get outside the apartment, I still get 1-2 bar and with ac66 none of mine devices could even find it.

With ac66 wifi signal is much worser than any wifi router I had, even mine old dlink DGL 4100 with 1 antenna have better wifi signal than ac66!

Got the router in livingroom and only there i got I got full wifi signal bars. If I go to kitchen/toilet and wifi signal is lost. Mine Note SM-P605/Note 2 cant even connect to ac66, since it only shows 1 bar and signal are too weak to connect to?

So, what happened to well known ac66 that got praised by everyone and suddenly is so bad? Did ASUS lower the the wifi signal after Netgear found out that they cheated by boosting the wifi signal out of FCC router rules?

Which firmware version still got the "wifi signal boost"?

I have tried latest firmware: 3.0.0.4.376.2524 (which wifi signal is crap) and Merlins latest 376.47 (which have better wifi signal than ASUS)

Using inssider:
Livingroom:
2G - 7 feet -38 dbm
5g - 7 feet - 43 dbm

Around inside apartment.
2G - 20 feet - 63 dbm
5G - 20 feet - 73 dbm (sometimes signal lost, over 80 dbm)
Only 2 walls stands betweens.

Ouside apartment around 50-60 feet - No signal!
Mine old dir 655 got at least 1 bar and still can connect to it. Speed is low, but i still can connect and use it.
AC66 is suppose to be a much better than dir 655 and have much stronger wifi signal? Right now it isnt and Im much dissapointed on AC66.

try official 266 firmware。 talking about signal， this 266 is the 1st option on 2.4G。

266 is very old, and has a lot of known security issues. It's a very bad idea to be running such an old firmware.
