Hi

When I occasionally reset my asus n66u after an update I keep the same SSID and passwords so every device connects up automatically again.

Was just wondering if its ok to keep the same SSID and passwords when I get a new modem, basically I run a VM superhub in modem mode and will be needing a newer version soon and will reset everything, I was unsure if keeping the same SSID and passwords after would screwup things.

Is there any circumstances that you should change your SSID and passwords when you replace things like the router or modem?

Thank's

There shoudn't be any problems.

The most common "fix" when there are problems is to delete the SSID and re-add it at the client.

Hi

Thank's for that, I will keep everything the same then, any problems I guess I will just change my SSID and passwords.

If you're just changing your Virgin superhub then that won't have any effect on your Asus's wireless settings.

As Nullity pointed out, if you replace/upgrade the Asus then you can also keep the same SSID's and passwords. But occasionally, because the router's drivers or chipset has changed some clients get confused. So simply deleting and recreating the connection on the clients resolves things.
