New Around Here
Hey everyone,

Maybe somebody has had this issue already. Just got a brand new, out of a box RT-AC1900 to replace my old Linksys E1200. I guess I was sold on all the amazing reviews on it. When I fired it up it puzzled the crap out of me. This thing is slower than my ancient router!

I flashed it to the latest version of Merlin, but it still crawls. I ran out of Youtube vids on tweaking this thing by now. Seems like already tried it all.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Need more info plz...
What is your ISP speed?
This test was over wifi of wired?
Did you reboot your modem after removing your old router and before install the new one.
After flashing the firmware did you Factory Reset and reconfig from beginning?
Did you have the same issue with the stock fw?

Sure.

My ISP speed is 1.5mbps (dark ages where I live)
The test is over wifi.
I don't have a modem, the router is it. It plugs into Cambium Networks Point-to-Multipoint unit.
That's one thing I didn't do is factory reset after flashing. Going to do that next.
Yeah, had same issue with the stock.

For reference my old Linksys is getting slightly faster speeds than ISP provides. Last tested at 1.54 mbps.
