Hi,

Just few questions so i Setup my new router anything I need to do I installed Merlin firmware and everything is good so far, apart from Formuler Z8 box won't pick up the 5Ghz channel it seems but my phone does.

Can I install ad blocker like Diversion on this router couldnt see it listed,or any one recommend the best add on?

Also my bufferbloat is grade b for some reason now but if i set Cake QoS and configure Upload and Download Bandwidth i can get it to A+ compared to Automatic anyone know how configure for best?

And my wifi im in FFTH 300/100 Package but my wifi speeds on devices like 40/50mbs compared to wired i get 280+ etc but my sister on the Same package and ISP across the road gets wireless speeds of over 200+? My wifi speeds have always be low but my house built 60years ago.

Use ch.36 @80MHz, WPA2 only, disable PMF and Universal Beamforming. Try again.

Yes, if you want to. It's in AMTM along with the other available custom scripts.

Cake QoS and configure Upload and Download Bandwidth

This is the correct way. Set up/down speeds to about 90-95% and let it do its thing.

Make sure you connect to 5GHz band, check your Wi-Fi settings, check link rates.

There is no Beamforming or MU-MIMO on 2.4GHz N, disable all for best compatibility.

Yes, if they are available in your country and your 2.4GHz devices can see channels 12-13.

Yes, if the you use PPPoE on your router. Online bufferbloat tests are not accurate, just use your Internet.

I personally wouldn't install any custom scripts. I don't like the USB stick idea at all - reliability weak point.

I only test some available Asus routers in my routers collection. I don't use Asus routers - my Internet/Wi-Fi system is different. At home I don't enforce network-wide adblock. DNS-based adblock solutions are not effective anyway. The best adblock is browser uBlock Origin extension. Leave your family members decide what they want to see on their screens. Help them to get what they want, if they need help.

Using 64GB USB 2.0 with Swap File and Entware and its pixelserv-tls for Standard Diversion thats all

Shouldn't be a problem. Certificates have to be installed on every device for pixelserv-tls, you perhaps know.

Oh i installed it on my desktop that was all, maybe I should of used Lite but dont even know if it works because still get ads on destop

Nothing. It's normal and no action is required.

Yeah if i was wanting to remove diversion and scripts and USB in general.

Seeing 91% RAM Usage scares me lol

You can disable custom scripts in Administration, System. You can uninstall the scripts first, if you want to. The USB drive has to be re-formatted for use in Windows PC's. If you have very simple configuration, you can reset the router to defaults and start fresh. Multiple options.

My config is just router with diversion enabled and Cake lol so reset router would get rid of the everthing including USB? You recommend just not use USB and just use the desktop Ublock on browser?
