No Aimesh icon on Rt-AC3100

New Around Here
I have a converted TM-1900, and I have been able to load firmware and get the AImesh icon fine. I just bought a RT-AC3100, loaded 3.0.0.4.384.20379. No Aimesh icon.
**
I even fell all the wa back to 384.10007 same result.
**
I have followed all the instructions to the T as well as many attempts not following.
After a full reset, during the Quick Internet setup the AC3100 does let me declare during manual setup to make it either an AImesh node or router,
**
Either route resets the modem, but the other one doesn't find it and once I setup again, the Aimesh icon is not there.
**
Anyone have suggestions. I have a ticket open with ASUS support but they don't seem to be helpful. (They told me first that only 10007 would work which I don't believe is true)
Last email gave me the basic instructions and asked me to follow them. One more point, currently in AP mode, but I have tried wireless router mode too.

Strange indeed. My 3100 shows the icon on the router home page and has since it was introduced. I just dont use aimesh.

I got escalated in Asus support. They have asked for some logs and configuration, so perhaps they'll be able to tell me. I'll update if resolved.

No response yesterday. I must be the only one with this issue. I figure it has to be a setting in a file not updated by the firmware; a country code, or model name issue. The AImesh software must have some logic to check if something is set to display that icon, and it is not finding what it wants. Will update if anything changes if anyone else has seen the issue let me know.

After a few more emails to support, they told me to reset it again and try the same thing. At least this time I noticed the 2.4ghz light is not on, and it appears the radio is not broadcasting.
..
Just asked support if that would keep the icon off. In any event, if the radio is out, I'll try and return the unit, and get one that works. If anyone has suggestions on if the radio can be fixed by any software settings I'd appreciate it.

Just weighing in to say I'm noticing the exact same symptoms on my RT-AC88U.
No Aimesh in GUI, 2.4GHz LED is off and I can't see the 2.4GHz SSID either.
