Friends, my LAN is configuration is: FIOS ONT > ActionTech MI424-WR (bridged mode) > Asus RT-N66U (primary) >> Synology NAS, Linux box, Windows box (static IP’s). I have configured DDNS and forwarded the appropriate ports in the RT-N66U but I am unable to access any LAN resources from WAN.
I’ve confirmed that DDNS is working properly and that resource requests are resolving to my current public IP. The RT-N66U just doesn’t seem to be forwarding the requests to the devices.
I’m fairly confident the problem lies with the ActionTech since with my previous LAN setup: ISP > cable modem > Asus RT-N66U router >> devices, I was able to access all desired resources from WAN with no problems.
If anyone here with a similar LAN configuration has WAN access working I would be very grateful for any help/advice you may have. Thanks!
Summary of how I set the ActionTech to bridged mode:
ActionTech MI424-WR in bridge mode + Asus RT-N66U as primary router
Set ActionTech’s IP Address to 192.168.2.1
Released ActionTech’s IP from the ONT
Released ActionTech’s DHCP lease
Privacy = Enabled
Internet Protocol = No IP Address
Bridged Ethernet/Coax and Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax)
Disabled wireless
Set firewall to minimum
Verified ActionTech does not have an Internet Connection: (Main page > Status = “No Internet Connection" )
Verified ActionTech is connected to the ONT: (Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax) = Connected)
