Nord VPN and DNS Configuration options

Dear Experts

My ASUS Router is RT-AX86U with Firmware:3004.388.8_4,,,,I am using Nord VPN (OpenVPN) and I set it up on my router and via option "Redirect Internet traffic through tunnel" I redirected only TV to go via the VPN tunnel to access USA Netflix library.........so far everything is working fine right now I am using default setting DNS IPs from my ISP as per attached snapshot and default "Accept DNS Configuration" option is : Relaxed

And other computers at home not going via VPN tunnel and they are manly for gaming

Not sure but I guess I read somewhere on this forum that DNS provided by NordVPN might not be reliable

My concern what would be the best options (Relaxed, Strict, Exclusive) for DNS configuration ???

Code:
Disabled = DNS servers sent by VPN-provided DNS server are ignored
Relaxed = DNS servers sent by VPN-provided DNS server are prepended to the current list of DNS servers, of which any can be used
Strict = DNS servers sent by the VPN-provided DNS server are prepended to the current list of DNS servers, which are used in order (existing DNS servers are only used if VPN-provided ones don't respond)
Exclusive = only the VPN-provided DNS servers are used

That sounds like one of my posts. :) My experience was that DNS resolution was "unreliable" when you try to use their servers over the public internet rather than through the NordVPN tunnel. But YMMV.

In any case I don't want to use NordVPN's DNS servers for all my other traffic which isn't going via the VPN. So my recommendation is that you don't put NordVPN's DNS servers in your router's WAN settings (as instructed by NordVPN). For devices going through the VPN client I set Accept DNS Configuration to Exclusive.
