New Around Here
So I have a HG612 3B acting as the modem connected to my ASUS router AX58U reading around various forums seems to indicate I can pretty much put whatever I want in the option 61 box under the WAN settings as long as it looks like a1b2c3d4e5@nowtv|1234abcd however I'm getting no joy from this and the internet light on the router persists in staying red and the error message in the router interface comes up as "your ISP’s DHCP does not function properly".

I've tried various different username passwords including using the MAC address for the broadband and my PC as the username.

Does anyone have a picture of their settings for this or an idea what I might need to change? Images attached.

What I read in NOW Community forum is that this ISP hides user login information and you have no choice, but to use the equipment they have provided. Some folks say own routers are not allowed on their network as per service contract. Your own router has to be in DMZ and double NAT. There are some hackish methods discussed here and there with mixed results.

I am on NOW and have been using Asus routers of various models (currently RT-AX88U) successfully. I beleive NOW have relented and allow 3rd party router although they wont offer any support for them.
Your setup looks exactly the same as mine apart from a different client ID in the first part of Option 61.
If I recall correctly I had a similar problem when I first set it up. I had to reeboot everything on order, modem then router and it seemed to work.
Have you tried pluging the NOW supplied router in to check it connects properly?
That will tell you if you have a problem or the line hasn't been setup correctly from their end.

Thanks for the replies, yes I have rebooted everything a few times and updated firmware a couple of times, also have been using the NOW TV router in the interim (with only a few drops of the connection), used skydsl instead or nowtv in the username/password as well.

I think I'm just going to have to give up and change ISP found talk talk have got an equivalent offer and don't need any passwords or usernames for their setup. Happy to try any suggested steps in the interim if it might help someone in the future.
