Okay, dont forget to talk about the DNS filter for the team, this is a great feature

Thanks very much for that extra info. Sounds like the overall usability/stability at this point may not be quite as buggy as I was beginning to think? Like you I also have need to use Merlin for my main house router (with wifi turned off) because of DNS filtering plus a couple of other conveniences. But it actually suits my physical setup anyway to then have the 4 AIMesh units all as wired AP’s separate from the router (currently AC68U about to become AC86U sometime this week once I transpose the setup). Just procrastinating about whether to actually put the AIMesh AP’s out in place of the old ones (slow but reliable). Guess I can always pull them out again if it doesn’t go so well?

Hi StephenH
After the asus team fixes the little issues about wifi drops and offline problems, the AIMESH FW will be usable almost 100% of the time, I´am using with no problems till now but the nodes shows offline and not even connected to the main router aimesh but everything is working good so I will not turn it off or reboot, I will leave working till the new FW release
The DNS filter is a pretty good feature, I did a dns filter for my devices and everybody of the house or even the guest users will have dns filter, this is an amazing tool for us, I was planning to get one PF SENSE and use aimesh at the same time, probably this is the best setup ever, also in the meantime I am testing the AD BLOCK tool inside of the router and firewall, keep in touch with LEDE FW too, maybe we can have the best of each one and put all together to work for us
Wired connectivity supported in AiMesh system
Arthur,
Mine is :
AC68U MERLIN ---------> AC68U AIMESH AP MODE ------> LAN to WAN NODE1 / AC68R
AC68U MERLIN---------->AC68U AIMESH AP MODE ------> LAN to WAN NODE2 / AC68W
The two nodes receive the WIRE from the AIMESH AP router, should I move the second node to the lan of node1 or it´s just okay? I am just asking because it´s everything working good till now in this configuration, but I really want to move out the merlin and use only ONE aimesh router with 2 nodes
You can use change the Operation Mode from AP to Wireless Router mode (your AC68U AIMESH AP MODE) and use it to replaced AC68U MERLIN.
Case 1:
AC68U AiMESH Router MODE -----> LAN to WAN NODE1/AC68R
AC68U AiMESH Router MODE -----> LAN to WAN NODE2/AC68W
Case 2:
AC68U AiMESH Router MODE -----> LAN to WAN NODE1/AC68R -----> LAN to WAN NODE2/AC68W
Both cases are supported and you can choose by yourself.
I was using the solution CASE1 but the problesm with the memory usage and cpu drops the signal and the network, so I am using this configuration till the next fw with improvements

Speak about the Ram and CPU usage, where do you guys get that info? I use my AC68U as AP and the system status of webui didn't work, if I click other tab such as system log then it will require login or show a page error. I tried with both chrome and IE.
I also don't have node disconnect.
Nope, clear cache of chrome and IE, still not working, for chrome it show nothing, for IE, it show the ram but it never update,the graphic didn't update eitherWorks fine here with AC68U as Main AIMesh Node in AP mode ... Network Map / Status shows CPU and RAM usage fine ... maybe try clearing your browser caches?

p.s. the AP ip is 192.168.11.3
- Make sure the web address http://192.168.11.3 is correct.
- Look for the page with your search engine.

Thanks, good to knowI met same issue, it's known issue.
I met same issue, it's known issue.
I must be misunderstanding something. Aren't those comments ALL related to the Main to Node connections? I'm wanting to connect OTHER devices, ie. an LAN port on a computer or a lan port on a TV to the NODE switch ports...
