Only getting 300mbps on 2.4ghz on RT-N66U

Quicken

New Around Here
I installed Merlin's firmware and have been doing everything I know to achieve anything above 300 mbps on my 2.4 ghz client. I have tried different channels, but to no avail...I am stuck on 300 mbps no matter what I do. I must be missing something obvious. While previously on the stock firmware, I had no issues achieving 400 mbps to 450 mbpsand I am two floors away from my router. I am using Merlin's 380.59 version and this is my first time using it. Is anyone aware of the proper configuration for this version to achieve anything higher than the locked at 300. I have a triple antennae client and little to no wireless competition in my area.

Wireless mode is set to Auto - I tried other settings, nothing changed
Channel bandwidth - set to 40MHz, tried 20 and only achieved 216 mbps and 20/40 and only achieved 144 mbps
Control Channel - Tried various channels, but get the same 300 mbps speed

I am on the verge of trying the latest stock firmware, but hoping to get an answer here.

Is there any settings available in your client that is limiting the speed?

Did you do a minimal and manual configuration after flashing the latest firmware and after resetting to factory defaults?

Be wary of the latest Asus firmware. Flashing it may prevent you from being able to try other firmware in the future.

If after having followed the steps in the link above doesn't bring the speed you had previously, and the settings in your client are properly configured too, you may want to try john9527's fork for your router instead (and a full reset is required there too).

Thanks for your responses guys. I knew it was something silly and an easy step that many of us forget to do sometimes. Disable and enable the NIC. Silly me. Getting 450 mbps 2 floors away on 2.4 ghz. Great firmware, BTW, have not had to reboot at all.
