Even though the DHCP Pool range and VPN subnet does not overlap the UI still shows an error and does not accept the value.

My guess is that it should really say "Conflicts with the router's LAN subnet". Which would be true if your LAN subnet is 10.0.0.0/20, as implied by your DHCP pool range.
 
So a VPN subnet cannot share the LAN subnet? Sorry I am not that pro in networking.
No, not with a TUN (routed) connection. You can with a TAP (bridged) connection but that's typically only used in very specific circumstances, e.g. linking two business sites together.
 
It looks like it is only comparing the first 3 octets of the router LAN IP with the first 3 octets of the VPN server subnet. What’s the router LAN IP?
