OpenVPN Client & Server Questions

Hi,

i have my N66u running with 3.0.0.4.374.34_2 all working as required really. I use the inbuilt vpn pptp server so i can connect when away. I also have a VPN connection on my HTPC via the Airvpn Website so i can connect to their servers when needed, but as they only allow one connection at a time i thought it would be better to share the VPN connection.

So my questions are:

1.Can i run both the openVPN client and server at the same time, so that i can connect my router as the client to the airvpn vpn servers i use so that every device i connect to my router goes through the Airvpn AND at the same time if i am out and about i want to connect to the router with my devices and be as i was on my home network?.

2.If i run the openVPN client so that all my devices that connect to my router go to the airvpn server can i select certain devices to go via the normal route i.e not via the VPN whilst still keeping the VPN up?

3.Would updating to the latest firmware be worth it before hand?

Cheers for any help

YES to all three (if 3.0.0.4.374.34_2 is working for U then it's your call based on the README.txt file for the latest firmware) although there may be a caveat using the router as a bridge for the inbound OpenVPN /PPTP Server connection and the outbound OpenVPN Client connection to view/access content provided by the AirVPN Website? Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can/will advise on this?

A good starting place would be a thread such as this:
