Hello

In OpenVPN client settings when I set DNS set as Exclusive I am unable to access my router GUI (https://router.asus.com:8443/)

If I set it as Strict I can access the GUI.

The thing is that I want to enforce the DNS provided by my VPN. If I use Strict I see in https://ipleak.net/ that I do not have the DNS provided by my VPN....I have already entered the 2 DNS IPs I want in WAN/DNS1 and DNS2.

What can I do to use Exclusive and still be able to access my router GUI? Is there any place in the GUI I can enter this https://router.asus.com:8443/ to be still accessible ?

Thank you

I could be wrong, but just thinking it through - if you set you DNS settings to be exclusive to the OpenVPN server - how could they have a DDNS for your router at the router.asus.com Every Asus router would have that entry.....

Can you access the router by the IP address (192.168.xxx.xxx:8443) and not hostname? I would think that is what you'd have to do by forcing it to Exclusive.

Hello. Thank you for your answer. I tested again and NOK...tryied to access the GUI with 192.168.1.1:8443 and same as before...I imagine yes an issue with DDNS but have no idea how to solve this...any simple way to proceed?
Thank you

If you can't access the GUI with your IP, then I don't know... I'm no pro and new here..... hopefully someone else can comment and help. Good luck and hope you get it sorted!

@JPotter he can access it with the IP address. @arkhane, please don't post the same questions in multiple threads in the forums here. Instead, just point to your question in any other thread (i.e. insert the link to it).
