OpenVPN fallback

I have a RT-AC68U and would like to configure the OpenVPN client feature to use with a VPN provider. I'm wondering, though, what happens if the VPN connection goes down due to issues with the VPN provider itself (i.e. my ISP connection is fine; only the VPN provider is having issues). Will the router fail over to using a non-VPN connection?

Unfortunately yes. You will still be connected to the Internet using the public IP from your local ISP.

Most people's complaint is that there is no warning when an VPN connection fails and you so to speak are broadcasting in the clear.
