Dear all,

Just activated the openVPN on my ASUS AC87U router, and its working ok. Firmware version is: 380.61.
I have 2 question.

With VPN connected I cannot:

- use the ASUS router app
- use connectBOT app to ssh my router.

I assume that the IP address provided by the VPN tunnel is different than the DHCP pool.

VPN pool

10.8.0.0 / 255.255.255.248

DHCP pool

192.168.1.2 start 192.168.1.99 end pool.

What can I do?
I do not want to activate the WAN connection in order to fix these 2 issues.

Thanks,
Adrian

Can you be more specific: by "activated the OpenVPN" what exactly do you mean? Are you, for example, running one (or both) of the OpenVPN servers on the router? And when you say it's working ok, do you mean you can, from some remote network, connect to your home network using OpenVPN on a client device? And you are unsuccessfully trying to use the Asus app, as well the ssh app from that remote client device?

Is that correct?

I'm talking about the connection between my Android phone (client) and the router (server). The connection is established and running OK.

All these resources, including the ASUS app and ssh client cannot be access by my mobile phone via VPN when connecting to the server via a remote connection but I can access transmission and web server via the browser.

You can access the router's web interface via your remote client's web browser at, I assume, 192.168.1.1?

I confirmed the Asus app works when I'm remotely connected using my iPhone, and I have in the past, just for the hell of it, used ssh over an OpenVPN connection. That said, I am still on 380.55 for what it's worth.

Try changing the netmask back to 255.255.255.0

Do you have "Push LAN to clients" = Yes?

I have a similar problem- using my iOS device I can connect to my asus vpn server using OpenVPN, but I cannot access the LAN. The iOS device is issued an IP address 10.8.0.x which is different from the LAN 192.168.y.z, so I dug around and someone on another board someone mentioned needing to add a route, but I don't know where or what to enter.
Does anyone know?

I have "Push LAN to clients" = yes

using merlin wrt 380.58 on RT-N66U

Appreciate any help!

"Push LAN to clients" = Yes in my case.
I can access via VPN my webserver 192.168.1.1 + port, I can access my transmission client 192.168.1.1 + port from my mobile browser but I cannot access routers ip address (192.168.1.1).

Changed the netmask back to 255.255.255.0 ... same thing.

I have tried also with Respond to DNS yes and Advertise DNS to clients yes since I have DDNS enabled. Nothing
By the way, do I need to import again the .ovpn file after the change to DNS parameters?

Sorry, I don't follow what you're saying...
I can access via VPN my webserver 192.168.1.1 + port, I can access my transmission client 192.168.1.1 + port from my mobile browser
What do you mean by "webserver", do you mean the routers GUI or have you installed some other software?
but I cannot access routers ip address (192.168.1.1).
But you just said above that you can access 192.168.1.1 (webserver and transmission)

Did it work in previous versions?

I think I remember reading that there was a change whereby the routers GUI and SSH were bound to a specific interface rather than all interfaces by default.
