Openvpn question

Hi,
Can someone shed some light for me on OpenVPN integration;

1. I noticed on the merlin firmware it offers 2 openvpn servers vs the 1 on the stock firmware, when you setup the openvpn server how many connections can you link vs the stock firmware.
2. on the merlin firmare on the second openvpn server you can't generate the client.opvn file, is that a bug or do you just use the one from the first tab, and if so whats the point of the second server?

The idea of being able to configure two different servers is if you need alternate configurations, or need to test something without affecting the primary server. They are totally separate configurations.

The number of supported connected clients will depend on the speed of your connection.

when I clicked EXPORT on server_2 i was getting an error, I'm currently running 380.65_beta3 and it seems to be working.

did a few factory resets since, maybe I missed something earlier and did something wrong

I just ran into this problem, if I change the

VPN Subnet / Netmask from 10.8.0.0 to 10.27.0.0 I cant ping the remote network, but works if i use 10.7.0.0

is there a range that I should be aware of? mask is still 255.255.255.0

Export buttons work for both servers for me.

I was surprised to find that I could have 2 simultaneous connections to the same vpn server. I haven't bothered to try and discover how many more it might be possible to add, but Merlin's answer tells me it depends on the speed of the connection, anyway. The important lesson to draw is that you are not limited to one connection per server.

I have one server set to port 1194, and the other was set to 443 tcp until I read sfx200's post at

which explained the failed attempted connections in my syslog, so I changed it to 443 udp and will see if that allows me to connect when public wifi is blocking the vpn protocol on the standard port.

I'm still on 378.55, so I can't comment on Qu 2.

I have tried 443UDP and 8080TCP(I can't use 8443TCP as I use it for WebUI), none of those work on my college network, only TCP443 does. I do think that OpenVPN server is secure enough and RMerlin helps keeping it up to date for even better security. But my TCP443 port is used for WDMyCloud, so I use OpenVPN client from my friend's TCP443 OpenVPN server of this same firmware instead of running one myself.
