OpenVPN RT-N66U Certificate

I've set up the OpenVPN Server on my RT-N66U with Merlin (latest).

I'm inexperienced with this and I'm just wondering if I need to generate a certificate in order to use the VPN securely? And if so where is the best place I can fnd instructions for generating your own certificate?

The client I am using is the OpenVPN iOS App on my iPad (iOS 10).

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You just need to export the .ovpn file and use it on your client to connect to your router.

You will need to generate a certificate depending on the options you selected in the OpenVPN Server Advanced settings page.

I followed this guide to create my certificates: https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/howto.html#pki I used them on my RT-N66U and now on my RT-AC68U with no problem.
