It's good knowing someone else has the issue too.

I don't have this problem at all. I get 1 ms pings consistently to my RT-AC3200 with the 6.30.223.228 driver. I'm also testing on a floor above where the router is, and beamforming is enabled.

ASUS PCE-AC68 Utility 2.1.0.8 is out
https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/PCEAC68/HelpDesk_Download/

Oddly, the beamforming option was removed in 2.1.0.8

FWIW, with the new driver, the Utility kept initializing in a constant loop for me over and over.

Also, with an RT-AC3200, I kept connecting at 5G-2 40 HZ at very slow rates with the Asus/Broadcom 7.35.290.0 driver, so I've reverted back to 6.30.223.228, which connects properly to 5G-2 80 at least.

For me, the new Broadcom 7.35.290.0 drivers are a complete mess with Windows 10 Pro x64.
What the heck!! It like they didn't bother to test the drivers.

Same issue with new utility. Doesn't work at all. As for new driver, I can't comment on 2.4ghz but 5ghz seems to be working ok thus far. Averaging 1ms ping to router

Are you on Windows 10?

Is WAKE ON LAN an option, or is it greyed out like previous verions?

Where is this 6.30.223.228 driver?

Yes. I originally did have such issues.. I think what fixed it for me was turning off beam forming and enabling interference mitigation in Asus utility. I can't get into the utility anymore since latest version is broken but assuming it's still like that

No. It's not. Asus removed the beamforming option in Utility 2.1.0.8

wake on lan isn't grayed out anymore on this version, but it still doesn't work. I checked both "Allow this device to wake the computer" and "Only allow a magic packet to wake the computer". Sent the wake command from my phone on the same wifi. Nothing happens.

Well, in Win10, if you can do a driver only install, and bypass the Asus Utility all together - might be better off...

I did discover a workaround for Windows 10 users getting ping spikes: sleep and wake your PC. Most of the times it resolves the spikes somehow.
