New Around Here
My router is upstairs in my media room. About six months ago, I had two access points installed on the first floor and one on outside on my back patio. The access points are Araknis. Prior to the installation of these access points, the media room had the best WiFi signal in the house. Now, it has the weakest signal and slowest speeds in the house. It’s almost as if the router is no longer broadcasting signal. I contacted ASUS, but they were no help (reboot, get new iPad, etc.). The installer of the access points hasn’t a clue other than putting another high dollar AP upstairs.

I have the latest firmware (384.13).The router has smartconnect enabled. It is set in wireless router operation mode. I have one SSID. No guest network.

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Not very tech savvy. TIA.

disconnect all other APs, then you will see if your 5300 is still operational on wifi.

Good call. I unplugged the access points and no internet signal was being transmitted to my wireless devices. I accessed the router through the LAN on my desktop and the router said it was connected. However, my iPad said no internet connection under settings and WiFi. I guess I found my problem.

Shame, because it is less than two years old. Now to find a new router. Thanks for the help.

Don’t give up on it yet. Reset it and see if it starts broadcasting a signal.

Thanks. I rebooted it and also did a factory reset. I then went back to asus’ firmware. No luck, unfortunately. I turned on and off the WiFi button on the side. Again, no luck. Just crazy that it works perfectly other than broadcasting a WiFi signal.
