Port forwarding not working - ASUS RT-AC68U

I have followed tutorials on using my ASUS RT-AC68U and TPLink routers to connect to my non CGNAT modem to port forward. I have tested multiple ports and called ISP to verify they don't block but no avail. What I followed was this - https://www.noip.com/support/knowledgebase/setting-port-forward-asus-router/ - and have found tutorials saying that issue may be nothing is "listening to port" or no services connected to port and that is why it is showing as closed on https://canyouseeme.org/. Have verified and am using right IP's + tested switching off router firewall

Any help / common mistakes it I may be making appreciated. Apologies for spelling, english is not first language

Does your ISP block that port?
Is the device at 192.168.1.18 listening to that port? (Is there an app or service listening on that port?)
Does the network that the remote device is on block that port? (e.g., my company's network blocks almost all ports)

Called ISP verfied not blocked. Not sure how to get something listening as just wanted to check if port forwarding worked / is there a way to get something listening just to show it works + get back my sanity haha. As port checking sites show it's closed.

Running a web server is pretty simple; you can listen on the default port 80 (and change your router mapping) or configure it to listen on 3030.

You also need to make sure the local device firewall is not blocking that port (for whatever application you listen with).

Last question I promise haha, do I have to connect device to router via ethernet or can port forwarding be performed from a wirelessly connected windows laptop?

Shouldn't matter. The mapping is based on IP address, not connection technology.

Can devices in your LAN other than the one with IP of 192.168.1.18 access port 3030 by connecting to 192.168.1.18:3030?
Does your ISP assign public IP to your router?
