Looking for a pre-built pihole: wondering if anyone can recommend reliable sources to get one?

PS: Sorry if wrong forum, wasn't sure where to post.

The "switches, nics and cabling" section is not likely the best choice for your post. Perhaps a mod will move it for you.

I haven't seen prebuilt pihole options from vendors, but they may exist, but.....

The installation and setup has been paired down to basically running a single install script. Besides, it's the unique configuration afterwards that is important and cannot be "bought" in advance. A generic setup from running the install script will at least suffice as a basic starting platform for many, or most, people.

As it is integral to your network, and requires other devices to be reconfigured (Usually your router for example) it is something that you really should understand and not just purchase (IMO). At a minimum you should properly understand what it does and why you need it (or not) and how to manage and maintain it afterwards. This knowledge is usually best attained by installing it yourself.

Should have clarified: I don't mind the software setup / maintenance I'm just asking about pre-built Pis: I'm not keen on building one myself and am leery to just buy a kit on Amazon and hope it all works so I was hoping to get some direction on where I might buy one that's known to be a quality product.

Pi-hole software runs on Raspberry Pi. All you need is a Raspberry Pi kit and some time to install Pi-hole on it. What is more pre-built than that?

The build process is typically:
- insert preconfigured micro SD card into slot.
- insert pi into plastic case. May require a screw, usually not.
- plug in video
- plug in keyboard- plug in power

:)
The Pi itself doesn't require assembly unless you want to build other things to go with it (sensors, displays, motors, etc).

Bought:
Pi 4 8GB
Cooler
Fans
Case w/OLED Display and video
My 8 year old daughter followed the directions in the video, and had assembled and working in less than 30 minutes. She has it booting from a usb ssd
Building a Pi and Pi-Hole installation is Griswald Easy!
If you would like, I can ask her how much $he will charge you for a pre-built pi-hole?

8GB Pi4 for pi-hole only? :D That is luxury or should I say "money to throw away" thing.
For pi-hole one could use even a pi2 easily. It's cheaper, doesn't need more power and does the job too.

But besides that kudos to your daughter! she is 8 and does something like that - that's great.

When I ran pi-hole, my pi of choice was a Pi Zero W with a USB shim so I could run it off the router.

Pi-Zero? Really? Wow neve thought that the zero could handle that without lagging or epic slowness but nice to know.
If you said Pi-1 I would be still amazed but it has more "performance" then the Zero but a Zero!?! That's interesting :)

The OP is asking for Pre-Built Pi-Hole, and my Daughter will only build the best.
FYI:
Daughter built her Pi as her 3rd grade science project
-twist these screws, connect these wires, power up, copy & paste, reboot
My Pi is not only for Pi-Hole, but currently using Docker to "experiment" with all the goodies in the pi World.

Yes, really. I had no noticable delays for the usage I required. In general, it shouldn't be very intrusive, but maybe you were using it differently than I was, or Ina different configuration.

I haven't looked up the official stats, but seem to recall the zero and 3B+ performed about the same in my environment. I had pretty good sdcards in them, not sure if that made much difference. I do not the 4 to be much faster though.

The Pi Zero W2 is out now :)
