Problems doing fw update

What version of Asuswrt-Merlin you are trying to load? This dnsmasq version was used in 384.8 back in Jul 2018.

The syslog shows the router started on version 384.8_2 and ended up on 386.5. If that helps decipher anything more.

The routers have only been updated with correct fw.
should the router disconnect the lan then reset during the fw update.
I thought that the fw loads then resets after the upload
because this is what my first concern was.

Yes, the router will disconnect (all), LAN, WAN, and WiFi while doing the update. Afterward, it will also reboot.

So the routers are already at 386.5? Or are you trying to update them to 386.5? What version are they on now?

After the router takes the update, yes, it would reboot and disconnect the LAN. Is that what you're asking?
