Problems with Nest Protect - Smoke Detectors connecting to my RT-AC87R

You'll probably start seeing some problems with IPv6. The Nest Protects send out router advertisements that will interfere with your IPv6 setup.

You'll probably want to set them up on a guest network with the current SSID (it's difficult to switch the SSIDs on the Protects once setup) and then switch all you other devices to another SSID.

I'm not sure IPv6 will work without the RA or DHCPV6 enabled.

Just to help with reporting...

Something I did with each protect before readding them, I erased their current settings, Hold the button down until you hear the version, then release and it will erase current settings...
-------------------------------------
The Nest Protects are communicating on the network and both Nest Protects are @ Firmware 2.0rc5

Hope this helps...

I have recently upgraded to merlin 378.53 on my AC68U and am having the similar symptoms, both my nest protect and thermo were connecting and reporting fine previously but now I can not connect no matter what settings I try.

Are yours still online?

Could you possibly summarize the current settings you are using.

Thanks for any help

Both of my Nest Protects are still online and working great...

My DNS settings was incorrect...
The primary and secondary DNS IP address was not correct so moving to the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 on the router corrected my problem...
I did report this to Nest support...

Thanks for the response BlueiPhone. Unfortunately that didn't get it for me.
BTW: i'm not just having problems getting to Nest.com but even connecting to my network. Wish the devices could provide more details on the errors. I'm getting the W2 error, but do not have MAC filtering on.

Can you confirm a couple of the other settings I've seen recommended:
NAT acceleration = ON
No spaces in any of my device names on the DHCP panel
Fixed assigned ip address by MAC
Channel bandwidth 20/40
Wireless mode Auto
b/g protection off
DTIM = 3
Beacon 211
Turbo QAM enabled

Thanks again for your help.
