QNAP NAS Missing from Windows File Explorer "Network"

This is correct, however this has nothing to do with your issue.

Have you confirmed yet which client ends up as your LAN's master browser? The master browser is chosen through an election, so you can't know for sure which one won the election unless you check.

Enabling the feature only tells that device to put int a more weighted vote toward winning - it doesn't ensure you will win if another one is putting in an equal or higher priority.
Thank you for this post. I downloaded and ran the lanscan app and YES...I did find that I had two master browsers active. I disabled the master brower on my main PC so that ONLY the QNAP NAS was the master browser. I ran lanscan again and verified that there now was only ONE master browser. I switched the router from my D-Link to the ASUS and rebooted everything STILL NO JOY. When I ran lanscan it could NOT find any devices on my LAN. It is DEFINITELY something weird with this ASUS RT-AC88U. There has to be something that does NOT like my QNAP

Can you make sure the QNAP (and any other wired devices) is plugged into ports 1-4 and not 5-8. My thinking is that 5-8 are connected to a different switch chip (Realtek) so perhaps there's some issue with the bridging.

Actually ports 1-4 are Broadcom and 5-8 are Realtek. I just switched them from ports 1 and 3 to ports 5 and 7 and it makes NO difference. Besides that would STILL totally not work for me since I wanted to do link aggregation on ports 1 & 2 for the QNAP NAS. I am about ready to thow in the towel on this issue. I have a new Netgear Nighthawk X10 being delivered tomorrow. Hopefully I wil not have this issue with it. Something like this should NOT be an issue

Are you sure you don't have two different workgroups? Having two browsers would indicate this to be the case, since the master browser is elected.

NO....my workgroup is consistant across ALL devices....Let me reinterate, when I switch routers....EVERYTHING works fine and my "old" router is a four year old D-Link with less technology

Hehe - no worries - Asus doesn't work well with Apple gear either :D

One thing - clean out DNS caches - ipconfig /flushdns

And then reboot/restart all devices on the LAN - might be running into some interesting stuff with microsoft networking - esp. with how Win10 has kinda changed things...

I wanted to let EVERYONE know how much I appreciated all of the help trying to get this ASUS RT-AC88U to work with my QNAP NAS. I have officially given up on it especially since the help here FAR EXCEEDED the "technical support" I got from ASUS. I should have my new Netgear Nighthawk X1o on Monday. I sure hope I don't have the same issues. THANKS AGAIN!!!
