New Around Here
Hi,

I just updated the router to Padavan's v3.0.3.4-048 from Asus Official firmware v1

There use to be a Ezzie QOS setting page. The new version of the firmware doesn't seem to have it anymore.

What I am trying to do is to give my gaming higher priority so when the house hold is you tubing. It doesn't affect my gaming.

Well, actually, if you use QoS you lose the ability to use the hardware NAT processing. QoS is only necessary if you have limited bandwidth. If you do want to use it, you may want to use a different router.

QoS will not make you gaming faster. It controls the packet processing, in many various ways, to make the limitation-hopefully-not as limiting. But due to many asynchronous provisioned connections this can be a problem no matter what.

Baiscally, having 50Mb/s ingress is good, but having 5Mb/s egress with that 50 is not. 5Mb/s is about 625,000 bits a second. That is not that much when multiple users are using the line. If it is just you then, that should be fine.

I live 4.3km away from the exchange so I am only able to achieve around 4Mbps via ADSL2+

Whilst I want to reserve minimal traffic for gaming(Dota2). With around 7 internet users in the house with the added kids here and there. I really can feel it when someone hits you tube.

I was contemplating in getting them Edgemax router. Not sure if this will help me.
