Quad9 reading

I heard Quad9 DNS had an issue in NA in some places today. I did not notice on Spectrum but my daughter on COX had to disable Quad9 DNS for the day. While looking for some news about it, I found some Quad9 reading that may interest some users:

I had to stop using Quad 9 for our network. It resulted in some weird issues occasionally and our ISP sent our requests to servers pretty far away (despite much closer endpoints exist). I use Quad9 over TLS on my iPhone with little to no issue.

Quad9 and Cloudflare very spotty in my area as well.

Odd, I did not experience any unusual SERVFAIL activity on September 6th in northeast USA. I am using 2 IPv4 and 2 IPv6 Quad 9 TLS servers.

As far as distant server DNS replies, I use "Secure w/ECS support" servers which partially reveal your location to avoid this very issue.
