News Qualcomm launches WiFi 7 Pro Series with wireless speeds of up to 33.1Gbps

Looks like it's going to be very pricey on the high-end, but the top two tiers are most likely never going to make it into anything consumer focused, despite what the press release says.

• Qualcomm Networking Pro 1620: Quad-band, 16-stream, 33.1 Gbps peak wireless capacity for stadium, large enterprise, premium home mesh systems.
• Qualcomm Networking Pro 1220: Tri-band, 12-stream, 21.6 Gbps peak wireless capacity for enterprise, SMB, prosumer, and premium home mesh systems.
• Qualcomm Networking Pro 820: Quad-band, 8-stream, 13.7 Gbps peak wireless capacity for enterprise, SMB, prosumer, and premium home mesh systems.
• Qualcomm Networking Pro 620: Tri-band, 6-stream, 10.8 Gbps peak wireless capacity for enterprise, SMB, gaming, and home mesh systems.

They likely will show up in the consumer side albeit in very expensive models, considering the top most one would likely succeed what’s currently in the latest AXE Quad stream Orbi as an example. The second highest one probably will show up in top end routers kinda like the Asus GT-AXE11000/ Netgear RAXE500 with AXE today though those were BCM based. Router side likely Netgear would use the Tri-Stream, I’d imagine Asus would likely stick to BCM for non-mesh, aside from low yield AX89X like Qualcomm models.

The first WiFi 7 home router was just announced a couple of days ago. The spec sheet for the H3C Magic BE18000 says it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Networking Pro 1220 platform with a 2.2 Ghz Quad-core CPU, likely the next iteration of the one used in the Asus RT-AX89X. It’s a tri-band model with dual 10G ethernet ports and has a 18.443 Gbps peak data rate. No word on an availability date yet. Looks like the timeline for WiFi 7 adoption just got dramatically shortened.
