Random disassociated equipments

Hi,

I have equipment regularly and randomly disassociated and reassociated.
How is it possible ?

I'm on AC86U with Merlin 386.9

Nothing unusual there, that is how wifi works. Do a search of the forum, the subject has been done to death here .

You are only seeing that because ASUS changed logging levels , quite a long time ago .

ok but if it's normal, i can't understand this :
on my Android box TV (mibox) when watching something, it loose connection, and reconnect, 3 or 4 times and after it will run normally.
with previous router i haven't those problems.

how to solve it ?

This'll happen hourly as that's the default setting for "Group Key Rotation Interval". If 3600 seconds is too frequent for you you can change it in the wireless settings - though I don't know if there's any security implications doing this.

Hello How are your options set for WPA2? or standard 3600 seconds, or other values? Does setting a lower value, e.g. 60 seconds, affect the security of the WiFi network (WiFi password cracking)

What do the log(s) on both devices show at the time the disconnection happens?

Doing a quick internet search for "mi box wifi disconnect" brings up a number of returns. Seems quite a others have similar wifi disconnect issues with that device. You may need to change router wifi channel(s) or check for other wifi interference from other routers or wifi devices.

What do you suspect is the OP's issue.

No idea. There's nothing unusual in the log apart from possibly 12:60:61:48:3C:87. All the log tells us is that client had stopped communicating with the router so it was disassociated, at which point the client reconnected. So this appears to be a client issue, possibly related to power saving behaviour.

With my previous router i had no problèmes like this...
For this ac86u i'm on Channel 11 on 2.4ghz and Channel 36 9n 5ghz.
There isn't other router and i've chose those channels After testing with a wifi radar...
Perhaps i should reset router and restart all settings ?
Where can I find the best settings for my router ?

Might be related to having the same SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. The other thing I noticed is the ampersand in your SSID which might cause some issues for some devices.

The most common causes are:

Week signal
Interference and cross channel interference
Bad drivers on the client

IOT devices frequently have cheap WiFi radios and also out of date drivers.

I would suggest not using SmartConnect and set the control channel manually. Disable roaming assistant and have your Android TV box connect to the 5Ghz band if it is able to.

But my android box tv is around 1 meter from router, always connected on 5ghz, and never had those problems of connection before this router, and when is runing, no problem but when starting have those problems of disconnecting and reconnecting 3 or 4 times before runing perfectly with very good connection.

also i need to have the smartconnect and roaming assistant cause when the signal is going bad on my phone for example (not near router) it connects in auto on 2.4ghz
