Re-keying interval question

ca110475

New Around Here
Hello,

apologies if the question is silly.
I've been adviced to try disabling re-keying or set a value higher than 3600 to fix some disconnections i'm having with certain Android devices.

Router is RT-AC87U.

If i'm correct, the option should be the "Group Key Rotation Interval" under Wireless - General.

Can please someone confirm that's the right setting, and if i set to 0 i will disable re-keying?
Any risk by disabling it? Security concerns?

Thanks in advance

That's the group key rotation for WPA/WPA2 - keys will rotate any time a client joins/leaves the AP, and if the group is constant, the rekey interval will rotate the keys anyways after the defined interval (in this case, every 3600 seconds).

Best to leave it as it is - if there's problems with Androids, I would look for an answer there - check the vendor for updates.

Andriod with mashmallows has probelm with openvpn during latest update.
Need to specify your DNS in phone and turn OFF powersave.
