Simple idea: Since Google Chrome in Windows by default is looking for
Code:
https://router.asus.com
when typing in the hostname, how do I reconfigure my router (I have Merlin, SSH, and can make JFFS/entware custom scripts/configs if need be) so that any hits on port 443 on the router redirects to the proper 8443 port?

the asus service for port 443 is disabled for because I don't need it on.
What would be the best practice solution in case other users wished to use other ports than 8443?

I usually set the AiCloud 2.0 port to 7443, then set the HTTPS port to 443.

Sorry for the poor grammar. I mean this:

Then I guess I don't understand the problem. If your router is set to accept HTTPS on port 8443, just browse to https://router:8443, no redirect needed. I've never heard of a port redirect (for anything).
