I’m on the latest stable GnutOn fork of Merlin running on an XT7 mesh. It has always worked well and this version also up to this point.

But after having tested installing Tailmon (Tailscale) on the router and removing it again, devices keep losing lan connections every 30 minutes or so, for about 3-5 minutes (also not able to log in to the Asus router) and I just can’t figure out the reason. Every device is restarted and I even re-uploaded the firmware on the main router. Else I only have MerlinSC and the MerlinAU script running via cron.

Had anyone else seen this and/or have any pointers for what to check next?

The general log doesn’t include anything mysterious apart from kernel stuff like this now and then:

kernel: CFGP2P-ERROR) wl_cfgp2p_tx_action_frame : sending action frame is failed
kernel: CFG80211-ERROR) wl_cfg80211_send_action_frame : Failed to send Action Frame(retry 6)

I would start by going to Administration - System and setting Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs to No. Then reboot the router. If it's now stable then there's probably some left of code from tailmon that causing the problem. But if there's still a problem then it's coincidental and nothing to do with custom scripts.
