LowLatency
New Around Here
Router: ROG Rapture GT-BE19000
Connection: Ethernet
Internet Speeds: 1.4g down, 100mb up.
Setup: VirginHub5 in modem mode, connected to be19000, ethernet cable (15m) to Gaming PC.
Questions:
1. I have set up the router, however im confused regarding things related to gaming. I see there is a gaming network i can make, which i have done. however, i cant seem to get my PC to connect specifically to the gaming network. the gaming network is usually 192.168.52.x for example. but my pc is always assign to 192.168.50.x (main network) no matter what i do. am i using the gaming network incorrectly? do i need additional software to transfer myself over to the gaming network manually? pc is connected via ethernet.
2. Is there any point in my even using the gaming network, if im the only person myself using the internet, devices being my Gaming PC and occasionally my iphone?
3. Is there any specific settings i should change on this router, to lower latency / force it into a gaming state that can benefit me on competitive FPS games?
4. Gaming Accelerator, QoS, GameFirst VI, GameBoost etc - Is any of this beneficial? I've done speed test with it all enabled, and my ping appears to have lowed by 3-5ms. But i see a lot of conflicting information online regarding using these, im new to all of this and some of the information is overwhelming.
Outcome i would like: to have my computer and network optimized so for the best online gaming experience.
Thank you to anyone who can help further my understanding of the above questions, i apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section, im new here and trying to learn everything. t
