Router abnormal behavior cpu

I use stock Asus firmware with AIProtection and all the analytics features (that latter is why I bought the Asus router) and I don't have a problem with high CPU.

I'll post my netstat (on stock) for comparison with the OP's, if that will help.

I have AIProtection, Traffic Analyzer, etc all turned ON.
There is no "netstat" process running and hogging the CPU:

It's all good now! You have Cleanbrowsing DNS with Security Filter for all your devices.
If you need Adult Filter on some devices, then add those to DNSFilter section with corresponding DNS.

Val, I know not everyone uses IPv6, but to be complete should they have been included for Cleanbrowsing DNS filtering? I believe some of the scripts only do IPv4 so in this case, DNS filtering for both IPv4 and IPv6 might even be better.

Not sure what are the presets in DNSFilter section, but I'm assuming IPv4 DNS addresses. @RMerlin can provide more information. I personally don't use IPv6, may turn it on only when something stops working. No signs of trouble for now.

For two days I have installed the new firmware ..Merlin on an RT-AC68U router.
Now I find myself with the problem depicted in the image.

Probably not supported on the Broadcom SDK, but consider that Broadcom has some pretty smart systems engineers to sort that - so maybe not a big deal

I experimented with irqbalance a few years ago, it brought zero improvement.

Asus and Broadcom manually configure IRQ assignations, that might be why.

Yes it works. You may want to remove the screenshots since they give your ddns name and I was able to see your AiCloud login screen over the Internet.

Also bad that you have Remote WAN access enabled for the GUI. !!!

Your let’s encrypt certificate won’t work until ASUS fixes it in a later firmware.

For me it seems you set port 21 on modem USB not Asus USB, forward it to Asus WAN-IP.

Not related to this thread - but no, there's been some attempts, but typically usb drive spin-down is a function of the drive firmware.

I would agree here - and in some cases it can hurt performance.

That is why I mentioned that the Broadcom systems engineering folks probably did do some performance profiling

I think the worst case would be single threaded tasks that do need single core attention - for example PPPoE or OpenVPN, where tasks have to be pinned to a core, and if both end up on the same core in an SMP config, that might be bad.

There's a part of me that would rather have total CPU load displayed, and not per core, as it's more representative, and most users are not linux users, but Windows users, and they have a Windows centric perspective, one of scarcity, where if one thread/core is 100 percent loaded, this is something that needs to be looked at.

I manually adjust affinity with OpenVPN. Client 1 uses core 1 (leaving core 0 free for routing duties), client 2 uses core 2 (on quad-core) or core 0 (on dual core), client 3 uses core 3 or core 1, etc...

P.S. in this forum you know how to keep a MAC Address fixed in a Blackview Smartphone A10, because at each start it changes Address?

Since I didn't see another thread regarding this (or I missed it), this happens when the OEM does not define the Wireless NIC MAC address during manufacturing, so Android will create one on the fly, and this will be different every time the device restarts.

This is different than MAC randomization (which is a privacy feature), what @alpha45 mentions is a vendor bug

I wanted to ask for another clarification on the router:
Can you explain me what could be the cause that occasionally disconnects a cam with Mac A4:12:1C:5C:4E:0B and in the register as attached is not seen when the posting happens, but it is only noticed when it is restored (manually).
Point out that this does not happen if, for example, I reboot the router, at the end of the restart it remains on the cam.
What can be the cause?
I asked Asus and they advised me to change the channel and the band, but obviously it doesn't help.
